Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on treatment, which identifies and relieves pain and tension held in the body, resulting in a deep sense of relaxation.
Any stresses, strains or tensions held in the body will restrict the body’s function, and may give rise to pain or discomfort. Using my hands to reflect back to your body the pattern it is holding, I provide an opportunity for the body to let go of its restrictions.
Releasing the body’s tension frees up energy, and this enables your body’s own healing power to create the changes necessary. Your body provides the agenda, I provide the support for the self-healing process to take place. The alleviation of stresses and increased sense of vitality and well-being are welcome to all of us - at any time.
Traumas, physical and emotional, can cause the body’s tissues to contract. Some times when stress is severe or prolonged the tissues remain locked. They carry and store the tension, and this might manifest itself in back pain, migraine, digestive problems or maybe emotional disorders such as anxiety or depression. As a therapist I am trained to feel subtle tensions and movements and detect the imbalances and restrictions affecting it. By listening to the pattern of these restrictions, I am able to assist the body to let go of its tensions and restrictions and return to health.

The treatment usually lasts one hour and involves you lying on a treatment table, fully clothed, whilst I place my hands gently on your body. You might feel a deep sense of relaxation, and possibly become aware of heat, tingling, pulsation or other sensations as your body starts to heal.
As it is the body (rather than your mind) that sets the priorities, you may find that the reason you came for treatment is not what changes first, and that the root of your problem lies elsewhere deeper within your system. Also some people find that it can take a few sessions to get used to what they are feeling. For these reasons, you may need to consider having a series of treatments to gain the full benefit of craniosacral therapy and its cumulative effects.
